history of Westpac in New Zealand dates back to 1861 when the Bank of
New South Wales for the first time set up its branch in the country.
Westpac in New Zealand underwent a number of transitions until 2002 when
the bank had finally changed its New Zealand name from WestpacTrust to
Westpac and relocates its head office from Wellington to Auckland.
Today, with its new head office address located in Auckland, Westpac
Bank is the second largest bank in the country providing a full range of
personal and business banking and wealth management products and
services to the New Zealanders. It operates two banks- Westpac New
Zealand Limited and Westpac Banking Corporation and is operating with
the brand names 'Westpac New Zealand', 'Westpac Life New Zealand' and
'BT New Zealand'.
